The Dinagyang is a cultural festival in Iloilo City, Philippines. Started in 1967 by a Roman Catholic parish priest, Rev. Fr. Ambrosio Galindez, as a means of devotion to the Santo Niño (Child Jesus), Dinagyang has become one of the most popular festivals in the Philippines. This was also largely due to the initiatives of the Marcos government to boost tourism and development in various regions of the Philippines.
