i found this very frustrating as well. no apple technical support can help me with this either.

Hi Sally. What's the output like when you run Console? Here's a screenshot of Console . Have you tried booting with the Snow Leopard disc and then repairing the permissions?

Upgraded to 10.6.2 on late 2008 macbook— no wifi, couldn't even turn on airport….used airport client update 2009-002 and can now turn it on and off, but still can only get seconds of wireless connection, then it cuts out. cannot share internet connection from cable. Tried all the little fixes advised on forums, no luck…very frustrating.

mine also is not working correctly. I am on an iMac, about 4 months old and have 10.6.2 installed and updated AirPort but still no luck. When I try and create a computer to computer network a error message appears which simply states there was an error creating your network. Not to helpful in trying to diagnose what is going on.

When I use the airport options in the sharing section no error message appears however this does not create a recognizable network and the icon for airport does not change to include the arrow.

It's the same for me, I turn it on, and it shares for 2 min, then just stops, and I have to re-tick internet sharing again,
which it will then work well for another 2 minutes, very annoying mac, thinking of going back to windows 7.

That used to be the case before I upgraded to the latest update. Now, I can share my wireless broadband via AirPort. Have you tried fixing permissions using your SL disc? I did this before I upgraded.

Running: 10.6.2, Latest Update Installed.
Still doesnt work……Except if an existing wifi network is within range with internet. the airport icon scans and then shows the grey ice-cream scoop with a computer inside it and it succesfully creates an ad-hoc wifi network. Turn off the external wireless router and cannot create network.

How ironic that the only time I can create an ad-hoc wifi network is when I am already in a wifi network.

Grrr to SL wifi!

I'm sorry to hear that, Ben. What version is your Snow Leopard? Have you upgraded to 10.6.2?
