The National Telecommunications Commission or NTC has announced that a new ‘per pulse’ rate for voice calls will take effect tomorrow, Sunday (Dec. 6, 2009). This change was brought about by a complaint from Senator Juan Ponce Enrile a few months ago when he noticed his prepaid account load mysteriously ‘vanished’ without him using his phone.
Under the new rates, telecom firms will be allowed to charge a “flagdown” rate of P3 for the first two pulses, or a total of 12 seconds. Every succeeding pulse will then be billed. Each minute has 10 six-second pulses. (Source: Inquirer.net)
