The dangers of Twitter + geotagging

Twitter's geotagging feature can be dangerous

Now that Twitter supports geotagging or in layman’s term allows other people to know where you’re posting from, it’s now easy to include positional information in your tweet using devices that have built-in GPS or global positioning system like the iPhone. So, where’s the danger there?

Geotagging allows information, like tweets, to include positional/location information when they're posted on the net

Recently, I’ve been noticing local celebrities who might not be aware that they’re also telling everyone their location whenever they ‘tweet’ or post a message on Twitter.com. What if you posted the message at home? For people in the limelight, this makes them vulnerable to stalkers or can put their lives in grave danger.

My adivse is–turn off geotagging when you’re at home or turn it off permanently if you’re really concerned about privacy.
