Starbucks cares for your notebook

Starbucks at Gateway in Cubao cares for your notebook's safety

I‘m sure most of you have a notebook or netbook (smaller than the regular notebooks) and would, most of the time, use it while you’re sipping your favorite brew in your favorite coffee shop. In the middle of your browsing session, you start to feel the need to relieve yourself but you can’t leave your stuff on the table, fearing someone might steal your precious notebook. So, what do you do?

To deter thieves from stealing your notebook, Starbucks provides a notebook lock to secure your notebook.

Normally, you would bring your stuff with you in the CR and then take them out again once you’re done but it’s so much hassle. Starbucks, my second favorite coffee shop next to Gloria Jeans, at the Gateway (in Cubao) has a solution to this dilemma — they will provide you with a notebook lock which is then anchored to the table. Usually, the guard will approach you and offer to attach the lock to your notebook. After securing your notebook, he’ll give you a claim card so he’ll know which key to use to unlock your notebook. I think this is a cool idea and I hope other coffee shops would follow suit. I’m not sure though if this free service is available in all Starbucks branches.

Kudos to Starbucks and Rustan Coffee Corporation for providing this free and uniquely thoughtful service!

I was able to confirm with the barista that this free service is available in all Starbucks branches within Metro Manila.
