Why Philippine business groups root for Noynoy

Here’s a nice post from someone over at Pinoy Exchange on why influential business groups favor Noynoy to win this coming election

the Makati Business Club is not really for progress. it was created simply to protect the interests of the rent-seeking oligarchs who controlled the country’s economy, no thanks to protectionist policies that were created and implemented by their minions who penetrated the executive and legislative branches of government.

it is very important for the rent-seeking oligarchs to install someone whom they could easily manipulate in order to protect their business interests. they could not obviously control Gilbert Teodoro and Richard Gordon because they are very smart individuals. they never liked Bro. Eddie Villanueva because he is a former Communist symphatizer and favors the causes of the labor movement. they could not obviously get anything out of Nicanor Perlas and JC de los Reyes. they never wanted Erap to return to power because when he does, he will make them pay dearly for their role in the 2001 coup against him. Villar would not win the oligarchs’ support because, simply, Villar is a huge business competition and they would surely lose their economic clout once the billionaire Senator and real estate magnate occupies the seat in Malacañang.

the oligarchs’ choice for this year’s elections is no other than Noynoy Aquino because he has no brains, no stand and has psychological issues, thus assuring them of a puppet that they can easily manipulate in order to protect their business interests and prevent the implementation of economic reforms that would be detrimental to them.
